Fong Sai Yuk 2 ***1/2 (out of 5) (1993)

Cast: Jet Li, Josephine Siao, Michelle Reis, Adam Cheng, Amy Kwok, Corey Yuen

Directed by Corey Yuen

Martial arts expert Fong Sai Yuk is back, this time trying to stop a mutiny within the ranks of the Red Flower Society. He also gets caught in a love triangle with his wife Tingting and a Japanese woman who has the secret to who the leader of the Red Flower Society really is.

A terrific sequel to the thrilling original. It's not as funny as the original, but the breathtaking fight scenes are all just as amazing, and the cast is still likeable, especially Josephine Siao as Sai Yuk's mother. The first film was mostly all in fun with a politcal subplot. In this outing the humor takes a backseat to the plot. All in all, an entertaining and satisfying sequel with a particularly awe inspiring final confrontation.
